To make myself sound like a more serious candy tester I decided to do some background research on Milky Way chocolate bars before writing this post. I was surprised to learn that Milky Way is described as the American version of the Mars Bar. Um, what? How did I never know that? Why would they change the name? And can anyone fact check this for me? I mean, they do taste similar – chocolate caramel and nougat – but I haven’t eaten a Mars bar in years so I barely remember what they taste like. The only thing I can recall is that they’re like the less good version of a Snickers bar, which has the added bonus of peanuts.
Either way, after five minutes of research I was ready to taste test this bad boy and OMG. It. Was. Divine. No, wait wait wait, I should have said ‘it was outta this world!!’ 😉
If there are two things I look for in my chocolate bars is dark chocolate and peanut butter. The Midnight Dark was lacking in the peanut butter department but the dark chocolate-caramel-nougat combination was on point. It was sweet, chewy, and lets’ just say I was happy my husband was out of town so I could eat it all by myself.
I even stopped half way through to take a picture. You’re welcome.
Enjoy the sweet stuff,
Urs
